Kick Start Celebration Evening June 29th 2018
Friday June 29th students from St Bernard’s, Furness Academy and Walney School attended a Celebration evening to bring the Inspiring Barrow Kick-Start programme for year 7 to a close.
Mayor and Mayoress Bill and Judith McEwan were on hand to present certificates of completion to all of the students. Whilst HM Deputy Lieutenant Mrs Anne Diss MBE presented special awards for Confidence, Resilience, Teamwork and Leadership.
Guest speaker for the evening was Tony Keen who was representing Cumbria Community Foundation.
The Kick-start programme will be expanding to new schools next academic year with the addition of a new staff member Kerry Stockdale former head of Year 7 at Walney School.
