Year 8 Celebration Evening
Inspiring Barrow worked with Year 8 students from 6 Secondary schools last term , Walney School, Furness Academy, St Bernard’s Catholic High School , Chetwynde, Dowdales and Ulverston Victoria High School . The students attended the after-school programme for a total of 9 weeks where they developed their teamwork , communication , and leadership skills . They evidenced their progress by producing community posters with the theme “ Positive Connections “.
At half term the children enjoyed a trip to The Kepplewray Centre to develop their skills further view the latest Inspiring Barrow Programme Video click for the link.
The children were acknowledged for their hard work with a celebration evening at The Forum where they all received certificates from Deputy Mayor Therese Assouad with Guest Speaker Deputy Lord Lieutenant Commander Phil Burns presenting special awards.
The programme begins with Year 7 children across the same schools this term with a meet and greet session for families on May 3rd . Families interested should contact their head of year for more information.
