Inspiring Barrow Kickstart Programme Review
Inspiring Barrow Kickstart programme finished the academic year on a high by engaging with children across year 6 and 7 in Barrow and Furness.
The programme which supported schools during lockdown with educational material, electronic devices and provided online history lessons and singing lessons was able to engage with schools to support children when the schools reopened in March.
Year 6 children were the first to enjoy the services of the team who worked with 70 children to help improve the children’s resilience, teamwork, and self-esteem after such a disruptive year.
At the start of Summer term the Kickstart team began normal delivery working with Walney School, Furness Academy, St Bernard’s Catholic High School , Dowdales and Ulverston Victoria High School.
All the children excelled on the programme and enjoyed a day trip to The Kepplewray Centre in Broughton to improve on the skills delivered in school. Due to restriction each school went individually this year
The Inspiring Barrow team will be supporting the Holiday Activity Fund Summer Hub camps providing support for the community during the summer holidays.
